Ahmed, who was sitting on a tree in the garden, when saw that Chapla has arrested Nazim and went to the palace, he started thinking that Chandrakanta, Chapla, and Champa, only these three have gone to the palace, Nazim did not go with all them, he must be imprisoned somewhere in this garden, thinking this, he got down from the tree and started looking around. When he reached near the basement in which Nazim was imprisoned, a sound of screaming came from inside, hearing which he recognized that it was Nazim's voice. He opened the basement door and went inside when found Nazim tied there, he quickly untied him, and after coming out of the basement, he said - "Come on, get out of this garden soon, then (I) will listen to what happened."
Nazim and Ahmed came out of the garden and started talking among themselves while walking. Nazim told the whole story of getting caught and whipped by Chapla.
Ahmed - "Brother Nazim, until we catch Chapla first, nothing will work out because Chapla is very cunning and is slowly making Champa clever as well. If she didn't get arrested, then in a few days one will become two, Champa will also be able to support Chapla in this work after becoming clever."
Nazim - "Okay, well, no work can be done today; I already had a narrow escape with my life. Yes, tomorrow, have to do this work very first, that is, in whatever way we have to catch Chapla and hide her in such a place which no one can find, and no one would be suspicious of us.
These two were talking slowly among themselves, in a while, when they reached the front door of the palace, they saw that Ketaki, who is princess Chandrakanta's maid, is coming from ahead.
Tej Singh, who was coming in Ketaki's disguise, also recognized Nazim and Ahmed the moment he saw them and started thinking that both of them have met on very right time and my appearance is also good, I should play some game with both of them at this time and if possible, not both, I must catch at least one.
Tej Singh deliberately passed close to these two. Nazim and Ahmed also followed him thinking that let's see where does she go? The fake Ketaki (Tej Singh) turned to look and said - "Why are you following me? Do the work which is assigned to you."
Ahmed said - "What work is assigned to us and what we should do? What do you know?"
Ketaki said - "I know everything. You should do only that work in which shoe-beating by the hand of Chapla is destined. What can be done by you in a place where there is not even a single maid to help you?"
Nazim and Ahmed got stunned to hear Ketaki's words and started thinking that she seems very smart. If we get her on our side, it will be beneficial, and it also seems from her words that she will agree to help us with some bribe.
Nazim said - "Listen Ketaki, it is our job to trick others. If we started to be afraid of being caught and killed, then it will never work, it is our livelihood, we get thousands of rupees as reward very easily, sometimes we also find helpers like you with the grace of God like you have met today. Now it will be good for you too if you help us, we will share with you whatever we get."
Ketaki said - "Listen, I am not the one to risk life on hope; they will be someone else. I charge first. Now, if you give me something at this time, I will get Tej Singh arrested by your hands now, otherwise, go, do whatever you do."
Both of them became very happy after hearing the possibility of Tej Singh's arrest. Nazim said - "If you get Tej Singh caught, then whatever you say we will give it to you."
Ketaki - "I will not take less than a thousand rupees. If you accept, bring the money in front of me."
Nazim - "Now where do I get the money at midnight, yes, I will give it tomorrow."
Ketaki - "Don't say such things to me, I have already said that I do not do a loan deal, here I go."
Nazim - (stopping from the front) "Listen, why are you angry? If you don't agree with us, then you stay here, we will go and fetch the money."
Ketaki - "Okay, one man, stay here with me, and one man, go and get the money."
Nazim - "Well, Ahmed will stay here with you; I will go and get the money."
Saying this, Nazim left Ahmed there, and himself happily went to Krur Singh to get money.
After Nazim left, Ketaki and Ahmed kept talking about random things for a while. While talking, Ketaki took out a few cardamoms from the wallet and gave it to Ahmed and ate herself too. Ahmed was so happy in the hope of Tej Singh getting caught that he could not think anything and ate all cardamoms, but within a short time, his head started spinning. It was then he understood that she is some Aiyyar (clever) who cheated him.
Quickly he pulled out a dagger from the waist without any noise and hit Ketaki, but Ketaki was already alert, she grabbed Ahmed's wrist after dodging his attack, due to which Ahmed could not do anything, while in a short time he fell unconscious on the ground. Tej Singh tied his arms and bundled up in a sheet and took the path of Naugarh laying him on the back.
He kept on taking quick steps in happiness, also with the thought that lest Nazim would come and chase him.
Here, Nazim went straight to Krur Singh's house to get money. At that time Krur Singh was fast asleep. Nazim woke him as soon as he arrived there.
Krur Singh asked - "What is it that you are coming at midnight to wake me up?"
Nazim narrated the whole situation to Krur Singh that is, going to Chandrakanta's garden and getting whipped after being caught, getting freed by Ahmed, then leaving from there, meeting Ketaki on the way and negotiating with her to get Tej Singh arrested in thousand rupees, etc.
Krur Singh regretted on hearing about Nazim's arrest, but jumped up happily after hearing the hope of Tej Singh's arrest, and said - "Okay, I will give thousand rupees right now, in fact, I will go with you myself." Saying this, he took thousand rupees out of the trunk and joined Nazim himself.
When Nazim reached to the place with Krur Singh where he left Ahmed and Ketaki, neither of them was there.
Nazim went blank and immediately came out of his mouth that he got duped.
Krur Singh - "Say Nazim, what happened."
Nazim - "What shall I say, he was definitely not Ketaki but an Aiyyar, who cheated us completely and took Ahmed away."
Krur Singh - "Great, you have already beaten by the hand of Chapla in the garden itself. Ahmed was left, now he too must be suffering a shoe-beating somewhere, good I got a break."
Nazim still searched all over the place awhile to clear the doubt, but nothing was found, at last, both of them took their way home hesitantly while whining and crying about the situation.
